Natec Fowler 2 - A review of a docking station that turns a smartphone into a computer.
It used to be that computers could take up entire rooms, then came the right-sized monitors and cases, until finally we could enjoy the mobility of laptops. Only that we still didn't have enough, and in this constant pursuit of ever-smaller and slimmer designs, we had to sacrifice a lot of functionality - just look at the new business offerings from Apple or other manufacturers, where only USB Type-C connectors are available. And where's the space for a memory card, full-size USB, network cable, HDMI and the like? There isn't, but fortunately there are solutions on the market that salvage this situation, such as the Fowler 2 multi-port USB-C adapter from Natec. Ba, they can do much more, because with them we can even do without a laptop and use the potential of our smartphone by connecting pointing devices and an external display to it.
At this point we usually proceed to describe the contents of the packaging of the tested equipment, but in the case of devices like the Natec Fowler 2 there is not much to write about. We get a small cardboard box kept in a gray-blue-white color scheme, on which we can find graphics of the product, its specifications and the most important functionalities, and inside wait the adapter itself and the user manual. Does this mean that we don't need anything else to use the device? Both yes and no. If we are going to use it as a laptop port expansion station, then indeed no, but when we want to use a smartphone and an external display, then we can't do without an additional HDMI cable. And what does the Fowler 2 itself look like?
